Synopex and KOMIR Sign MOU to Develop Mine Wastewater Purification Equipment

Synopex Membrane, a subsidiary of Synopex, announced on the 15th that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KOMIR) to develop mine drainage purification equipment. The signing ceremony was held at Synopex’s Dongtan site in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, attended by KOMIR division head Yang In-jae, Synopex Membrane CEO Lee Kwon-ki and other officials. Synopex operates businesses in filters for semiconductor and display processes and industrial water-treatment membranes, and has recently been expanding into eco-friendly water treatment areas such as sewage and wastewater treatment. The agreement aims to combine Synopex Membrane’s membrane-based water treatment technology with KOMIR’s experience in mine environment restoration and mine drainage treatment operations.
