Passenger use of coastal ferries linking Incheon Port with islands in the West Sea continued to rise in the first quarter of this year. According to Incheon Port Authority (IPA) on the 13th, 153,653 passengers used Incheon Port Coastal Passenger Terminal from January to March for routes serving more than 10 islands, including the five northwestern border islands, Jawoldo, Daeijakdo and Seungbongdo. The figure was 7.9% higher than 142,358 in the same period last year. By route, Incheon Port to Baengnyeongdo had the most passengers, followed by Incheon Port to Deokjeokdo and Incheon to Ijakdo. Last year, about 1.081 million people used the terminal, up 24.7% from 2024 and the highest since IPA opened. IPA attributed the growth to Incheon’s reduced-fare “Incheon I-Bada Pass” and stable route operations. Source: rss.donga.com
