Published: · Source: hankyung.com

The Korea Housing Builders Association said on May 1 that it held a housing industry policy meeting with the Democratic Party at the National Assembly on April 30, 2025, and presented regulatory relief proposals to revive the sluggish housing market. The association submitted 21 tasks in five areas: resolving unsold homes and stimulating demand, supporting liquidity for housing businesses, expanding the housing supply base, improving apartment quality, and easing excessive corporate taxation. Key requests included temporary capital gains tax relief and exclusion from heavy acquisition tax when purchasing unsold homes, restoring apartment purchase-rental registration, easing loan rules, lowering interest rates, and improving conversion of group interim loans into balance loans. It also stressed urgent support to normalize real estate PF, realistic HUG-recognized appraisals, and improvements to LH purchase-rental programs. Source: hankyung.com
