Hyundai E&C and Itochu Expand Hydrogen and Energy Transition Cooperation

Hyundai E&C said on April 24, 2025, that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Itochu Corporation on April 22 at Itochu’s headquarters in Tokyo to identify opportunities in new business areas. Attendees included Hyundai E&C CEO Lee Han-woo, Itochu President Keita Ishii and Itochu Plantech President Yasuhiko Asada. The companies agreed to strengthen business ties and seek cooperation in energy transition and new-growth fields, including pumped-storage power, data centers, ammonia and LNG. The move was also presented in the context of the 60th anniversary of Korea-Japan diplomatic relations and expanded cooperation with a major Japanese investment, development and engineering company.
