About one month before the 2026 North America World Cup, South Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) promoted K-food to teenagers in Mexico, one of the co-host countries. aT said on May 15 that it held “K-Food en tu Escuela,” meaning K-food enjoyed at school, from May 13 to 14 for about 1,000 students, including those at ASF International School in Mexico City. The event was planned to connect with the global sports event and introduce Korean food culture to teenagers, a key future consumer group. On the first day, students tasted bibimbap, kimchi, japchae and tteokbokki during lunch, while a soccer shoot challenge, hanbok experience and traditional games were also offered.
