According to a May 14, 2026 report by Hankyung, real estate research firm Real Today found that from January 1 to May 11, Yongin in Gyeonggi Province recorded 6,678 apartment sales, the highest nationwide. Suwon followed with 6,299 deals and Hwaseong ranked third with 6,150. The three cities are known as part of the semiconductor belt because Samsung Electronics and SK hynix production lines are located there. The report also cited the relatively lower price range of apartments compared with Seoul as a factor behind active trading. No Seoul district entered the national top 10; Nowon-gu led Seoul with 3,031 transactions, ranking 11th nationwide. Industry expectations also center on improved access to Seoul after the GTX-A Seoul Station-Suseo section connection expected as early as next month. Source: hankyung.com.
