Shin Ramyun Sales Top 20 Trillion Won as Nongshim Targets Global No. 1 by 2030

Nongshim held a press conference on May 13 at Lotte Hotel Seoul in Jung-gu, Seoul, and said Shin Ramyun, launched in 1986, has become the first product in Korea’s ramyun industry to exceed 20 trillion won in cumulative sales and 42.5 billion units sold. CEO Cho Yong-chul said Shin Ramyun’s spicy flavor has expanded beyond Korea to the world, reaching the 20 trillion won milestone by the end of last year. The 42.5 billion units sold equal a noodle length that could travel between Earth and the sun about six round trips, based on 40 meters per pack. That averages about 120,000 packs per hour and 34 per second. About 40% of cumulative sales came from overseas. Nongshim is adding the new Shin Ramyun Rose to the lineup and expanding its global network as it aims to become No. 1 in the global ramyun market by 2030. Source: rss.donga.com
