Korea Electric Power Corp. said on the 13th that its consolidated revenue for the first quarter of this year, from January to March, reached 24.3985 trillion won, with operating profit of 3.7842 trillion won. The operating profit was the largest ever for the same period, but it fell somewhat short of securities industry forecasts. Revenue rose 0.7% from a year earlier, operating profit increased 0.8%, and net profit grew 6.7% to 2.519 trillion won. KEPCO has now remained profitable for 11 consecutive quarters since turning to profit in the third quarter of 2023. However, international oil and liquefied natural gas prices surged after the Middle East war in late February, and that rise was not fully reflected in Q1 results. KEPCO said the impact will affect earnings and funding with a lag from Q2. Source: rss.donga.com
